Hearing God's Voice

While speaking with a friend recently, I realized I might not be the only one who wonders if it's God's voice I'm hearing when I pray. Even though I do my best to quiet my mind, to be still and know He is God, sometimes the noise of the world is just too loud.

That's when I do something pretty unique, and I'd like to share with you. I start writing a message to God with my non-dominant hand. Doing this causes me to concentrate so much on my penmanship that it slows the racing thoughts and allows me to feel the direction God has for me.

There have been many times I've gotten an answer before I've even finished writing the question. Sometimes, He confirms what I thought I heard was actually from Him and occasionally, it just doesn't work.

There are situations I have praying over for a long time, and I realize that it's just not God's timing yet. If that's the case, for you and myself, I pray for patience and peace to find Him in the waiting. When we do hear from Him, I pray there would be confidence in the decision to follow God's will.
