Taking Time

Time … we all have the same 24 hours per day. We all have the same 365 days per year. What am I doing with my days? When I sit down at night and reflect, am I filled with joy or regret?

As a new mom, long ago, I couldn't wait for the next milestone to come. Now, as a mom of teens, I wish I could go back. The thoughts about time came to the forefront of my mind especially during the Christmas season. I could let myself be taken away by all the commercial aspects of the season or I could "Be still."

Psalm 46:10 says "Be still, and know that I am God." But I can only be still when I give myself the opportunity; whether it's taking time at the start of each day talking with Jesus, taking time to listen to a friend, taking time to listen to my children and husband when they get home, taking time to listen to a relative's story that I've heard many times before; all are so important.

Ephesians 5:16-17 says "... [make] the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish but understand what the Lord's will is." So my message to you, and to myself, during this and every season is ENJOY! Because we never know when the opportunities will be gone forever.
