His Compassions Never Fail

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23

Lamentations 3:22-23 is one of my favorite scriptures. As I was thinking of the past few months and what the Lord has been speaking to me, these verses came to mind, as they often do. I find it interesting that it comes from Lamentations, a book about sorrow and sadness. But then I thought of the times that the Lord has used it in my life recently …
… last spring when my husband ended up in the ER two weekends in a row for abdominal pain and then caught the flu on top of everything else. 
… over the summer when my husband’s best friend/cousin and favorite “uncle” to our son, passed away at the young age of 54. 
… Christmas morning when my son woke up with a fever and our plans for the day had to change.
All were times of sorrow and disappointment and yet His compassions never failed. They were new every morning.

So, I don’t know what you are facing today, but remember His compassion never fails. Great is His faithfulness.
