His Glory Revealed at Every Door

Our college ministry has a tradition at Christmas of caroling around the neighborhood. For the past four years we have been taking joy, song and smiles into our community with faith that Jesus will show up as we go. This year did not disappoint. We prayed and then set out to see what God could do.

For one house the lights were on, but no one immediately came when we rang the doorbell. So, we decided to just start singing anyway. The door eventually opened to the emotional smile of a sweet woman. She mouthed the words along with us as we sang. When we finished, we asked if we could pray for her. She shared that all of her needs were met; she had food, shelter and medical care. But as she talked, it was clear that what had brought tears to her eyes was the warmth of community. We thanked God for her life and prayed healing over her body. It never ceases to amaze me the things that Jesus invites us into. We get to see His glory revealed at every door we come to. We will continue to pray expectantly that we will see her for Christmas!
