Mike Dwyer / Executive Pastor and Director of Men’s Ministry

At our Monday night Men’s Bible Study we are discussing the lives of the great men of the Bible. The time spent together on these evenings has blessed me and I continue to see the meaning of the phrase “iron sharpens iron.”

During these discussions we are truly honed, thereby made ready by the Holy Spirit for his work. In Romans 6 we are encouraged to “not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness…” The word “instrument” in the original Greek is better understood to mean weapon. So then each of us has a choice to make. To be used as a weapon against Christ and thus lead many towards perdition or to allow ourselves to be weapons in the hands of God and be used for the salvation of many.

As for me (and my house) we will choose the latter. I will be praying that everyone here at Eastern Hills will continue to prepare themselves to be used and to take advantage of the many ways the Church can help.
