It is so great to rest in the Lord on Sabbath Days …
Weeks ago on my Sabbath Day I was at the shore of Lake Ontario sitting in a gazebo listening to the breaks, meditating God’s words, praying and contemplating. Observing the change of weather was so amazingly touching! From hazy sunshine, beautiful calm lake in the morning, then thick clouds, strong wind, heavy downpour moving in making roaring waves in the afternoon, to the after rain cool down, refreshing peaceful lake in the evening – the entire time I was under the shelter of the gazebo … totally protected with peace under God! Isn’t this the life that a lot of people are dreaming for? In the midst of up and downs outside, our inner soul is still so peaceful and full of joy because our Lord is there with us!
Two more things that caught my attention during the roaring waves: There were families (kids and parents) rowing boats joyously, no fear at all. I could tell that it was not just because they all had on life vests or were well trained in water activities, but because the whole family was together and the kids sensed the security because Daddy and Mommy were there. There were also kids coming for swimming camp and one of them was hesitating to go into the roaring water, but with the encouragement of the coach and the other kids, she finally joined the team having fun in the water together. What a wonderful spiritual family! (This was a Christian Camp and the people that I saw had Christ in them already.) Very touching …
All of these remind me deeply of our Heavenly Father – who is with us, loving us, watching us, disciplining us, protecting us so and so forth, and no matter what – whether we are alone or with family. He sent His son to redeem us that we can individually and collectively have faith, hope, love and joy in our daily lives!
What a wonderful day that the Lord has given me. Thank You Lord, thank You for everything, thank You for every day, thank You for all!
