Prepared for What’s Coming

We think of First Responders for what they do in the midst of crises. They run into burning buildings (like the Twin Towers), not away from them. But what do they do with their time when there isn’t a crisis? Ecclesiastes tells us there are seasons, and a time for every purpose under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3).

I’ve seen First Responders washing trucks, checking equipment, restocking their emergency kits, and taking refresher courses. All of these activities prepare them for the next time they are running into the thick of things.

What do you do to prepare for the next season of life?
