Ever glance at one of those pictures where if you stare intensely you can see something in it beyond what is obvious? It can be fun, but it is also enlightening. How did we miss it the first time? Makes me wonder what else I am missing because I am not being discerning enough. Jude shares the concern. He launches into an intense assessment after acknowledging that we already know certain things. But by doing so, he is showing us what we may have missed.
