Willing Servant

The other day I read a very powerful devotion by A.W. Tozer* that made me really reflect on how I use God in my life. We often ask God in prayer for healing, strength, wisdom, and to meet all our needs. But in fact, we sometimes treat Him more like He’s our servant to answer our prayers and needs, rather than we are servants to Him.

He is not Someone that we should only run to for rescue. He is our Father. We are His children. God is the Maker and Creator of all, the Almighty; He knows what we need before we ask. We should strive to ask, how may I serve You, God, and worship You today, Father?

Ask yourself today how often you run to the Father for your needs rather than running to ask what are His?
