To Everything There is a Season

Krisha Gabucci / Next Gen Assistant Director of Elementary Ministries

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

“But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.” Job 12:7-10

“Does not even nature itself teach you…” 1 Corinthians 11:14

In God’s most wonderful higher thinking, He created seasons. Weather, daylight, and vegetation are all cyclical and vary. And from His creation we can also be reminded that in our lives, we will also have many seasons.

Seasons of joy and celebration, of grieving and loss, of setbacks and disappointments, of favor and blessing! Each season has purpose and meaning. It is through these seasons that we experience, like nature, growth!

Growth in relationships, in wisdom, in faith. Seasons bring new life and healing. Where there appears to be nothing, just wait, the seeds planted just need time to produce the fruit of blessings you have been waiting for. The job you have been waiting for, the baby you have prayed for, the restoration of a relationship, the breakthrough from addiction or a stronghold. Even if you do not see right now what you feel like God has put in your heart, do not lose hope, just wait, the next season may just produce the very blessing you have been waiting for.

And through each season, hold onto God’s promises from His Word. He will never leave you; He will never forsake you! He will supply all your needs! He will go before you! If there was only summer, growth would not happen, if there was only winter, fruit would not be produced. So in your life, if there were no variations, you would never grow; you would never experience the richness of life. Friend, what season are you in today? Thank God for that season and trust it is part of God’s plan! And you will see beauty! You will see His blessings!
