Get Well
Tricia Ciliento-Hans / Lay Ministry Resident
This month I will be with Eastern Hills for 10 months. Within that time, I have given testimony, joined a small group, been baptized, became a member, and now I am a lay ministry resident and becoming more active within the church.
I was invited to Eastern Hills by my son’s teacher who prayed over me for healing as I am fighting Lymphoma. I have always been a believer but was not “walking” with Christ. I knew after the first Sunday at Eastern Hills I was “home.”
Recently on June 13, I had shoulder surgery. I knew it would take time to heal and I was in so much pain. I did not fill out a Connection Card (wish I did), but I had so many people within the church praying. Suddenly, cards were coming in from our congregation. As I am sitting at home, in pain and recovering, these cards with well wishes and scripture not only made me smile but helped ease the pain. I never knew what a simple card of encouragement with scripture could do for one’s soul. Every card had a different scripture in it. I was able to open my Bible app on my phone, listen to the scripture, and feel the prayers coming in from that person. I am grateful for my church family.
Consider filling out a Connection Card at church or online, it is so important for all of us. Whether it is for recovery, birth of a child, passing of a loved one, prayer for a situation, or praise.
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
