The Bonds of Community

Kaitlyn Pfennig / Next Gen Ministry Assistant

A lot of people think January is the time to start a new routine, but I always think of September. In September there is a new daily rhythm that starts with the school year. Maybe it’s from the lack of vacations and events to the increase in traffic due to the school buses and parents driving their kids to school.

It is so easy to fall into a simpler and slower routine. Some pieces fall through the daily and weekly routines, and it becomes harder to get them back. It is easy to do church from home in your jammies and not worry about getting everyone dressed and out the door on time. But church is not just about listening to a sermon, it is about the community that is built. People that will support you in the tough times and celebrate with you in the big and small moments.

Romans 1:11-12: “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.”

Church is more than just Sunday. Small groups and the events bring us together, but the bonds of community and friendship span the rest of the week. These are the people that will be there through all the ups and downs with you.

Be part of the community of believers, we are here for it all.
