Pleasing God

“This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.” 1 Timothy 2:3-6

I have had several seasons in my life when I wondered if what I was doing was pleasing to God. Have you? Not that I was doing anything sinful. I just wondered if it was what I was supposed to be doing and if He was pleased with how I was going about it. Then I came to this verse in 1 Timothy.

It expresses God’s ultimate desire, that all people be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. It confirms the only means, through Jesus Christ. And it affirms the mechanism for having this proposition presented to people, through being witnessed to at the proper time.

That means if I focus my life on bearing witness of this truth at appropriate times, as the Spirit leads me, and make sure that what I witness to is Jesus’ death on our behalf, and I continually do that to everyone I meet, I will always be in the position of pleasing God. So that is the answer to my question.

So, the question for you is, are you pleasing God?
