“Taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.” Psalm 34:8

With so much unrest and uncertainty in our crazy world, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that God is good, and He is a refuge for us. When I find myself getting stressed about current events, I go to the unshakable Word of God and remember His promises to His children. God Is Good! I speak that to my soul and find peace. We can take refuge in Him because He never changes. When everything around me is shaking, God is steady and sure. He is a rock! He is in control, and nothing happens without His knowledge. Basic truths, right? Too easy to forget when things seem to be spinning out of control.

As the hymn says, “Be still my soul, the waves and winds still know His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below. Be still my soul, my God doth undertake to guide the future as He has the past. Thy hope thy confidence let nothing shake. All now mysterious shall be bright at last.”
