Our Journey Together
Karen Corral / Worship Arts Administrative Assistant
I’m sure you’ve heard it said, “Life is a journey.” For believers, it is an exciting journey with Jesus! You never know where He will lead you, but He is always right by your side throughout the journey. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Not too long ago, my husband, Greg and I were praying and asking for Jesus to guide us in finding a new ‘church home.’ It was a time of anxiousness for me. I kept going back to one of my favorite verses in the Bible, Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Jesus heard and answered our prayers when he led us to Eastern Hills Church where our new journey has begun.
The first Sunday we walked in, I was a little overwhelmed by the number of people here and the size of the building. The second week, still wandering in the Atrium with that “I’m new here” look on my face, Roxy showed up and took us on a tour of the building. As she walked us through the tour, she introduced us to people along the way. Each week we came for service, more and more of you reached out to connect with us. It was like you were welcoming us into your home! What a blessing you all are! Now, I find myself looking for that person wandering around the Atrium with the “I’m new here” look on their face so I might have the opportunity to make them feel welcome here at Eastern Hills. I know how much that simple act meant to me!
As we felt more comfortable, we prayed and asked Jesus, “How can we serve here?” We met with Pastor Justin who introduced us to Pastor Joe who connected me with Pastor Andi who had a need for a Worship Arts Assistant. I recently came on Staff as the Worship Arts Assistant! Through Pastor Joe, Greg became involved in the Monday Night Men’s Bible Study. What a privilege it is serving together in Christ at Eastern Hills Church on this journey!
