An Encouraging Word on Victory from Nick Weimer

“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57

The only true victory we have is the triumph Jesus won when He suffered and died for our sins. Jesus paid the penalty so we would not have to. Due to our sinful nature, we deserved the death He endured. However, we were redeemed “with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” His victory over sin and the grave opened the door for people everywhere to be saved. I don’t know about you, but I might not be able to physically run a race anymore, but we are admonished to “run with patience the race that is set before us.” At the finish line, Jesus is waiting, “the pioneer and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” During this Lenten season, we need to keep focused on our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

If you have not accepted His free gift, “now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of Salvation.” Right now, wherever you are reading this devotional, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved. Declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved; for Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
