Don’t Let Go

Recently my wife and daughter came back from a six-day trip. The first night home my wife put my daughter to bed and she started crying. After a while I went in to see what was wrong and comfort her. As soon as I picked her up, she stopped crying and immediately snuggled up to me. She just wanted her father.

I prayed with her and told her that she has nothing to worry about, she is safe, she is loved, and Jesus is with her. I put her binky in and set her down in her crib, then she did something that she had never done before. She reached her hand through the crib and grabbed my shirt so I wouldn't leave. That tugged on my heart string because that is how we should act with God.

We should have this desire to be with Him and love Him with our whole heart, not just giving Him a piece here and there, but we should give Him everything! Hebrew 12:1 says “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Take time today to rest in His presence, He is waiting for you!
