A New Beginning

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ form the dead.” 1 Peter 1: 3

During holy week I am so encouraged. I feel as if it is a new beginning. Although I do tend to feel this way every year around this time. The birds have started to sing, the trees have buds, the grass is a bit greener, and the bright yellow daffodils have started to show themselves. I try so hard to take it all in. The rest of the year is mundane with the sun of summer, the hibernation of fall or the dead of winter. But spring brings everything back to life.

We are promised, by our Father, everlasting life in Heaven. And if we live the way He intended, we will be abundantly blessed. I think of this often around Easter. He sacrificed His only Son for every one of us so that we are blessed. What a gift. How do I even begin to repay this honor? Am I doing enough to live in His image and His intended way? I am assured He sees me trying and is encouraging me to do my best. But I am particularly motivated during spring to try again, or even do something new.

Lord, I cannot thank You enough for all You have blessed me with. And I am truly blessed by Your greatest sacrifice.
