Focusing on the Truth

“I lift up my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2

In these days of turmoil and fear, I have to remind myself where to go for peace. I remind myself that God is still in control when everything seems to be spinning out of control. I only see a piece of the puzzle; God sees the whole picture. That gives me comfort. He is the only comfort!

Romans 8:28 tells us that God works all things for the good of those who love Him. Again, the whole picture! He knows the end from the beginning, and He is orchestrating everything for our good.

I know these are not new truths to anyone, but sometimes the basics are what we need to rest on. It’s easy to skim over a familiar verse and not let it touch our hearts. It can be difficult to get ahold of God’s message for us because of the difficulties around us. Focusing on truth is what gives me peace. We can worship in the middle of the storm.

Psalm 140:13 says, “Surely the righteous will praise your name and the upright will live before you.”

I’m currently sitting at my desk and listening to Bryan Wheat playing hymns on the piano near the Kava Café. The words of these hymns are going through my head and blessing me! Thank you, Bryan, for sharing your talent and being such a blessing to all who hear your amazing playing!
