Pictures Don't Change, or Do They?

Pictures are great. They capture "that" moment forever: the good, the bad, the beautiful, and the ugly without bias. The farther back in time we go, the odder those pictures can look. Hair and clothing styles seem to morph from current to "a little weird" and the farther back you go, the more "wow" they can be. It is funny how our perspective can change in time. A once fashionable hairstyle or outfit can soon be met with cringing embarrassment and at times you can hear yourself saying "I can't believe I wore that..."
Everyone is keenly aware of how fast society's values, fads, standards, opinions, and views change. The world is a fickle place, as today's champions will be tomorrow's scorned. Although many things quickly change, I am grateful for the dependability of God, because He doesn't change. EVER. Hebrews 13:8 reminds us of a simple truth "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." He is constant, His word is constant, and His truth is constant. As Isaiah 40:8 reminds us, "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever."
When you feel like you can't count on anything to stay the same, remember that He is the one who you can count on and His love for us never changes.
