Stop and Look Around

Peggy Farrington / Office Manager/Administrative Assistant

In the middle of a busy afternoon of doing laundry, making dinner, cleaning the house, and doing yard work, I saw this outside in the driveway. Yes, my 11-year-old Golden Retriever, Savannah, was just sitting quietly in the backseat of my car. I asked my husband, Bob, what in the world she was doing there. His response was that she had been sitting by the car, so he opened the door and she hopped in.

So, I stopped doing my work, grabbed my car keys and took her for a ride in the convertible.

Then it hit me, how many times am I so busy with my agenda that I miss others around me that need something? How many blessings and opportunities have I missed because I was too busy to notice?

That was the perfect reminder to me that life is short; take a look around and see the blessings that God has for you. Look for the opportunity to show someone the love of Jesus. Put your own agenda aside and serve someone else. Enjoy the journey!
