We Are God's Temple

by Laurie Warner / Receptionist

I recently finished a Bible Study of the Tabernacle titled, “A Woman’s Heart, God’s Dwelling Place.”

It was a great study that opened my eyes to God’s amazing plan beginning in the Garden, as pertaining to the Tabernacle in the wilderness. I never had a full understanding of the Tabernacle. When I was in Israel, we visited the replica of the Tabernacle and it was very moving. We heard of all the symbolism of each part of the tabernacle and how it relates to Jesus and God’s plan of redemption, but this Bible study really gave it new meaning for me. Just how much God desires to fellowship with us and the length that He will go to meet with us is incomprehensible. I am blessed and humbled.

As we finished the study, we talked about the fact that we are now God’s temple. As the Tabernacle in the wilderness had to conform to God’s absolute precision, so we are “fearfully and wonderfully made!” Psalm 139:13-18 tells it so beautifully. Our purpose being to reveal His Glory! We were in awe of God!

So, look in the mirror today and tell yourself: I am fearfully and wonderfully made!
