Simply Trust

Every day we place our trust in many things, whether we are aware of it or not. We trust that our car will start in the morning to get us to work. We trust that the U.S. Mail will deliver our mail on time (hopefully…) We even place our trust in the flight crew when we board a plane for a vacation with our family, or travel out of town on business. Specifically for me as the head audio technician here at church, I trust that the sound equipment will function properly when I turn it on, and when someone speaks into a microphone, it will work, and I will hear them.

We just assume that the sun will rise again in the morning … like it always has, and that we will awake for another day to enjoy its warmth. These things we simply take for granted. Of course we as believers know that God is always at work behind the scenes, taking care of these things. Yet how often do we / do I forget about the abundance of simple blessings that I receive every day? Our Heavenly Father blesses us daily in so many ways! Every breath we draw comes from Him … all our provisions are a gift from Him.

When trying times come, and they always seem to, I often get anxious and nervous about things, and begin asking questions like … what’s going to happen next? How will we make it through all this stuff? What if the test results are bad? Will I be able to meet my financial obligations? Etc. During these difficult times, I am reminded that I need to look to Our Heavenly Father, the creator of the universe, for help, strength, and provision … be it for health issues, financial concerns, or loss of any kind, choosing to “simply trust” that God knows what’s best for me, and will continue to provide all my needs.

Take a moment today and thank your Heavenly Father for all the blessings in your life, including the simple things!

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” Corinthians 9:8
