Recently, there was a post on Facebook which demonstrated the amazing transformational effects of makeup on some average women. The ordinary was transformed into the extraordinary! I was reminded of Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will.”

As with makeup, having the right tools and application is necessary for transformation, so it is with the transformation and renewal of the mind. Each of us has available that which God has given to be totally transformed by Him. The Word alone has the power to renew our minds; yet, we must know and apply it. God will never force Himself on us. We must desire to be transformed from ordinary followers of Christ to extraordinary followers of Christ. And, we must turn away from those things which would distract or allow us to be conformed to the ways of the world. I’d much rather spend my time in pursuit of God, than the futile pursuit of those things in this world which can never save nor satisfy and have no eternal value, wouldn’t you?
