Scott Wilson / Facility Manager
My
faith journey has brought me to a point where I’m beginning to realize how God
uses ordinary people to accomplish His plan. Psalm 33:11 in the NIV says, “But
the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all
generations.” Jeremiah 29:11 in the NIV states, “For I know the plans I
have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.” God’s plan is for redemption and
salvation for all who believe. To me that makes it clear that He has a plan for
each of us. We have to believe that we have a purpose in the accomplishment of
His plan.
Throughout
the Bible in both the Old and New Testament there are examples of God using
ordinary people to accomplish His purpose. From the earliest times of Abraham,
Noah and Moses to the Disciples of Christ and many other examples, ordinary
people fulfilled God’s plan.
As
I read the Bible it’s not always easy to understand what is being said and why.
But as I study the word with other believers, ordinary people, I gain a greater
understanding. God reveals through people so that I have a better understanding
of His purpose for me. And I guess that when I share my understanding that helps
clarify for someone else what their role is in God’s plan.
If
you are not participating in a small group, consider joining one. There are
many opportunities here at the church for you to share in the accomplishment of
God’s plan and be a blessing to a fellow believer.
