By Pastor Mike Dwyer / Executive Pastor
and Men's Ministry Director
I have been greatly blessed by this year's summer of fun activity.
My wife, Karen and I have had the great pleasure of leading a hearty band of
explorers these past weeks to experience the riches of Buffalo's ethnic history
and culture. One of the Bible's great themes is God's love of diversity. Paul's
letters continually glorify the wonderful unity that is strengthened through
the uniqueness of each individual and the differences in various groups.
Buffalo is rich in the ethnic backgrounds of its people. We have had the
pleasure of visiting St. Stan's and the center of Buffalo's polish roots,
feasting on catfish and chitterlings (you will have to ask) prepared by Pastor
Cap Farrow and his gracious wife, Barbara; walking down Hertel Ave. and
enjoying the Italian heritage of North Buffalo and other surprises as well. I
have had the added pleasure of getting to know the diversity that exists within
our own church family and our people. Each of our brothers and sisters has a
unique God story to share. I urge you to ask them about theirs and to tell them
about yours. To find joy in the way God richly blesses us.
Thank You Lord that You are faithful for the journey. Help me to
trust You for the duration of the process so I won't miss anything You want to
accomplish. Grow my obedience Holy Spirit I pray, in Your beautiful and Holy
Name, the name of Jesus.
