Fear often grips me with insecurities and doubts. It attacks my mind and makes me believe things that are not true. It warps reality and fills my head with "what-ifs." Satan uses it to wage war on my thoughts and feelings. He often gives a small thing a big shadow and it frightens and overwhelms me.

How can I fight against it? What defeats fear and its vicious lies? Fear is eliminated by taking my eyes off of the shadows and looking at God within me instead. Focusing on His will, His plan, His place in my life helps to break those chains of fear. It puts those large, scary shadows into perspective and fills my mind with truth, His truth. Looking towards His face and resting in His love eliminates the fear. Remembering who He is and all of the promises He has made eliminates fear. Taking hold of His hand eliminates fear.

"For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." Isaiah 41:13
