Never Leaves the Same
Ariana Carle / Summer Intern
Recently, I attended “Never The Same” Camp with the youth group as a leader. This is the second time I have attended as a leader and not as a student.
It's really a different experience when you go from being a student to attending as a leader in charge of students. Your perspective changes from wishing to have God work in you and winning team comps to praying that God will move in every one of your students and winning team comps. (So maybe some things don't change.)
There is an amazing culture amongst the leaders and an opportunity to love on these students who come to this camp, many of them not expecting to see God move. Every student leaves never the same and has seen God move with their very eyes. They experience the Lord in a way many haven’t before, leaving with wonder in their hearts.
For me, it's wonderful to watch them grow in their faith and to reflect on how that was once me as a student. It still is, really. I am still a student in many ways, and I still find that wonder every day. God will continue to move, but camp is one of the best weeks of the year to see all those kids finding, loving, and following God.
