Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Suk May Yei, Pastor of Prayer and Care

“If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.” Psalm 50:12

Thank You so much for all Your creation, Lord!

Thank You for the beauty of the spring season, Lord! Recently when I was driving on the Thruway to downstate NY, all along the way were trees sprouting as well as plants in the farmlands growing. The spring color interwoven with the crystal-clear, blue sky formed such a beautiful painting, so full of life, to refresh and relax all the drivers on the road, totally free! Thank You, Lord!

When I arrived at the suburb residential areas, almost all of the front/back yards were filled with blooming flowers in different colors accompanied with birds singing in the background, non-stop from sunrise to sunset … so pleasing to the eyes and ears, all because of Your beautiful design Lord! Thank You, Lord!

Looking at all these flowers in particular the perennials, so tender and delicate on the outside but so strong and stern on the inside; surviving through the bitter cold winter then "resurrecting" at the designated time in spring year after year; while they don't even need a man-made computer chip built in to remind them … how great Thou Art Lord! Thank You, Lord!

Dear Lord, You show us so vividly - in You tenderness and almighty power co-exist. Here we live in Buffalo, we are so blessed to experience both in full force. You give us delicate flowers, beautiful farms on the one hand and the powerful Niagara Falls on the other hand. The April 8, Total Solar Eclipse here - when visualizing the Moon passing between the Sun and Earth completely blocking the face of the Sun; and reflecting the utmost power therein - was so breathtaking! You are all-in-all Lord!

Once in a while I wonder: What would be in a person's mind (in particular pre-Christian) when he/she is standing in the front of Niagara Falls at the time of the Total Solar Eclipse? Did they think about Creation - Fall - Redemption? And what would the Lord like us, followers of Jesus Christ, to share with these pre-Christians at that moment? Following the Solar Eclipse, while travelling with a disciple to Indiana for The Wesleyan Church Marketplace Multiplier Conference, God gave me an answer! A hotel guest that we met shared with us his recent experience at Niagara Falls - when seeing all the tourists that were so in awe with what they saw, he told them, "My Father made it …" and then geared all the subsequent conversations to talk about Jesus!

Dear Lord, thank You so much that when our spiritual and physical eyes are upon You, all things around us, above us, in front of, or behind us will automatically become conduits to introduce You to whomever You let us encounter! Thank You so much that You are God, and we are not … and we Praise You for all, Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen, Amen, and Amen!
