This is the Day that the Lord Has Made
Suk May Yei / Prayer & Care Pastor
“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:2
I am writing this on Lunar New Year (February 17, 2026) a day that many Asian Countries celebrate, and the celebration lasts for fifteen days! With my Asian heritage, these fifteen days are also the days that the Lord has made, so I am rejoicing and being glad in them!
In Asian cultural context, 2026 is the Year of the “Fire Horse” (this only happens once every sixty years) that signifies intense energy, rapid change, passion. And as a follower of Christ, it is natural for me to relay the term “Fire Horse” back to the Bible. Amazingly, the fire horses were there when God took Elijah into heaven in a whirlwind (2 Kings 2:11), when Elisha was besieged by enemies (2 Kings 6:17), and when the Lamb opened the seventh seal (Revelation 9:17)!
Dear Lord, it is so powerful! You love me so much that at the beginning of Lunar New Year, You remind me again of Your second-coming and all that is going to happen before that. It is for sure Lord. While the world may not believe You can make a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland[1], nor You can calm the storm; nor believe in anything that You said … we know that their “disbelief could not make Your TRUTH untrue”[2], Lord. May all Your followers’ total belief (our church and me included) be a “Pioneering” testimony to the world, all for Your Glory, Lord. And as the Lunar New Year Day is also the eve of Lent and Muslim’s Ramadan … Dear Lord, may no one perish, but all have eternal life. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
