The Joy of Friendship

“Love one another deeply, from the heart.” 1 Peter 1:22
I recently took an impromptu getaway with some girlfriends to Ocean Springs, Mississippi where one of my friends just moved to. I was very much in need of getting away to gain a fresh perspective on some struggles I have been facing in recent months. I had never been to that part of the country and could not wait to see the Gulf of Mexico, sample some southern grits, and fill my tank through laughter and heartfelt, Christ-centered conversations.
The Lord knew just what I needed and knew these women would NOT disappoint! We laughed from the time we poured our morning coffee, until we said our good nights.
My heart was full. I could not be more grateful to the Lord for not only this little vacation, but for bringing such beautiful Christian women into my life over 35 years ago.
Relationships matter. We were made for relationships because our Heavenly Father is relational. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of friendship.
“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
