Pause, Breathe, and Pray
Carey Dugan / Preschool Assistant Director
There are times when life feels unbearably heavy … when my mind will not stop racing, the questions keep piling up, and peace feels completely out of reach. I will admit it: I’m an overthinker. My mind is constantly running, playing out what could happen, replaying what already did, and obsessing over what I should have done differently.
When that overthinking takes over and my fears begin to grow louder than my faith, I desperately need something, an interruption. A moment to pause and remember that Jesus is here. He is the way through all my worries, the truth in the middle of all confusion, and fills my life with hope.
He is in every detail, every thought, every breath, every moment. That is the truth I need to hold onto when my mind starts to spiral. When thoughts run wild and life seems too much to bear, I need to pause, breathe, and remember I am not alone; Jesus is always with me.
So, when thoughts run wild and life feels too much to bear, pause, breathe, and pray. Let this sink in: Jesus is with you. You are not alone.
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
