Journey of Faith
Deanna Thomas / Finance Director
As a staff member, we are responsible for writing a short Engaging Story as a blog post about every 6–8 months. This time around, I decided to look back on all the stories I’ve written over the years I’ve been here. It was quite a jog down memory lane. Some made me smile, some made me laugh, and a few even made me tear up. But collectively, they show my growth.
Looking back, I see the challenges I’ve faced, and the lessons God has taught me along the way. At the time, many of those seasons felt uncertain, stretching, and overwhelming. But God was always in the midst of it, guiding me and showing me that with Him life is so much better. It’s funny how the little insights I once hoped would encourage others are now encouraging me. Words written in faith during one season have become reminders of truth in another. Prayers and promises I clung to throughout the years are just as true today.
Life has a way of bringing unexpected turns. Some seasons feel light and joyful. Others feel heavy and refining. But what I am reminded of as I look back is this: growth rarely happens when everything is easy. It happens in the stretching. It happens in the waiting. It happens when we choose to trust God even when we don’t fully understand what He’s doing. Sometimes the story God is writing in us, becomes the encouragement we didn’t know we would need later.
