A Testimony of Victory from Robert Baumgart

My name is Robert Baumgart, and this is my testimony of how Eastern Hills Church helped to save me from the clutches of hell. I had been living a homosexual lifestyle for the past 36 years thinking all was well without any repercussions whatsoever. Boy, was I wrong, and I realized through God that I was traveling on the highway to hell. I cried out for help, and He responded by having me cross paths with Stephen Borkman, the landlord of my next-door neighbors, who just happened to be the keyboard player for the worship team at EH. He told me to give this church a chance to assist me with all I was dealing with 1) identity crisis; 2) grieving; 3) emotional turmoil; and 4) knowing God. Corey Nieman and Justin Jones provided incredible counseling and sincere concern for my well-being, giving me stepping stones of advice to follow in order to remove myself from the lowest of valleys with the help of our Father, God Almighty. I gave myself completely up to our Lord, requesting Him to rewire my brain back to what He originally intended me to be: a man who loves women and eventually would become the father of children. I discovered that staying in the Word along with constant prayer guided me to stay on the straight and narrow in life. Now, my life is focused on our God, who willingly died upon the cross for all of His children, as well as staying in prayer of thanksgiving for all He has done for me. I have been so blessed with many kind, generous, and loving people at EH Church in so many ways. May the love and glory of God fill your heart, soul, and mind with the knowledge from our Creator. The “Blaze” series presented by Pastor Justin Jones has reinforced what I have read as well as what it takes in order to live a Christ-like life to the best of my ability. I sing to God daily and praise Him in prayer for all that He has done for me by taking the impossible and making it possible. Amen.
