Sharing the Healing

Peggy Farrington / Office Manager, Administrative Assistant to Congregational Care and Spiritual Formation

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3

I have grown to love that verse. It is what we talk about during the last class of GriefShare. When God does something in our lives, when He has healed our heart from a hurt or loss, what do we do with that healing? We need to share it with others, so that they also may find healing in Christ.

I lost my mother suddenly 24 years ago. It was a loss that rocked me to my core. But as the Lord healed my heart, it was too exciting not to share it with others. That is the very reason that I have led the GriefShare Class for as many years as I have. I want others to receive the comfort that I have received from God. I never could have made it the past 24 years without God walking with me on this journey.

Have you experienced a loss in your life that you need God’s healing from? It’s not too late to seek the Lord for that healing. Come join me Monday evenings at 7pm in The Living Room as we have just started the next session of GriefShare, or call me … I would love to share my story with you of how God has healed my heart!

What has God done in your life that you need to share with others? I encourage you to share your story today!
