I love the moments when I realize that the Lord is trying to teach me something through the eyes of children. On Sundays, we don’t teach your kids a watered-down version of God’s word, but rather a concise, poignant, to-the-point message that is easy to understand. It is a reminder, for me at least, that God doesn’t want us to read His word and feel as if we’re deciphering a code of complicated language, but instead wants us to fully understand His message. This past month, we have been learning about the virtue of patience. Our memory verse is from Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord. Be strong and don’t lose hope. Wait for the Lord!” How simple. I am someone who worries more than I should … when I am unsure about the future, or finances, or how I can keep myself healthy and still do all the things I need to do. I need only to remember that if I wait on the Lord, He will provide more than I could ever ask or imagine. He blessed me with a job that I love and He always provides just enough for what I need. He created my body and He will give me the means to take care of it. I need only to wait and trust, to be strong and to not lose hope.
