The Lord has been reminding me that I need to be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10). My husband and I have been in the exciting but nerve-wracking process of buying a new home while selling our current one. As we were waiting for details to be finalized on the mortgage approval for the new house, we had an offer to buy our house. The same day we signed the offer to sell our house, we found out there were a couple issues with the new house that would need to get worked out before we could close and move in. Even as I write this we are still working out those details.

In the midst of the unknown and uncertainty, I feel the Lord reminding me to BE STILL. The God of the Universe, my Creator, knows all the details and has a plan (even if I don’t know what it is) and He continues to remind me that I don’t need to be anxious…I just need to be still. One of my favorite songs is “Be Still and Know” by Steven Curtis Chapman. What a great reminder that we can be at peace while we wait on Him.

"Be Still And Know"

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is holy
Be still Oh restless heart of mine
Bow before the Prince of Peace
Let the noise and clamor cease

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is faithful
Consider all that He has done
Stand in awe and be amazed
And know that He will never change
Be still

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is God
Be still
Be speechless

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is our Father
Come and rest your head upon His breast
Listen to the rhythm of
His unfailing heart of love
Beating for his little ones
Calling each of us to come
Be still
Be still
