Joy

Joy to the world the Lord has come…Most of us have heard that song. It is easy to see Joy at this time of year. Houses decorated with colored lights. Different manger scenes at churches in the area. People dressing up in festive clothing. Children anxious to see what is in the gift wrapped box. Picking out just the right thing for the special someone in your life. Giving a gift to someone who didn’t expect it. Christmas music, store displays, cleaning a neighbor’s sidewalk, even a plate of cookies. Joy comes in many different forms.

In my Study Bible the word “Joy” is mentioned almost 220 times. God must want us to know that it is good for us to have Joy or be Joyful. In Proverbs 15:30 it says, “A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.” God gave us what we need to have great Joy. A Savior. Not just this season, but throughout the entire year. Spread some Joy by telling someone the Good News, the greatest Joy of all is…Knowing Jesus.

Merry Christmas and Joyful New Year.
